Our District and School Services Include:

  • Customized Curriculum Review: Tailored mathematics curricula aligned with state standards, but also culturally responsive to the needs and experiences of Black boys in K-8 Mathematics.
  • Teacher Professional Development: Workshops and training sessions to equip educators with culturally competent teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and assessment methods specifically geared towards improving outcomes for Black boys in K-8 mathematics.
  • Parent Workshops and Resources: Engaging workshops for parents to understand the importance of mathematics education and provide them with strategies to support Black boys growth at home.
  • One-on-One Teacher Support: Individualized sessions with experienced educators focusing on addressing specific learning gaps and providing personalized support to improve the mathematical outcomes of a select number of teachers.
  • Supplemental Technology Integration: If desired, implementation of educational technology tools and platforms to enhance mathematics learning experiences, making lessons interactive, engaging, and accessible the diverse learning styles Black boys in grades K-8.
  •  Assessment and Data Analysis: Conducting thorough assessment review to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses in mathematics proficiency, followed by data analysis to inform targeted intervention strategies of Black boys in grades K-8.
  • Culturally Relevant Curriculum Resources: Leading teacher focus groups developed to access to culturally relevant mathematics resources, including books, games, and digital materials that reflect the experiences and backgrounds of Black boys.
  • Summer Enrichment Programs: Designing summer programs designed to prevent summer learning loss and reinforce mathematics skills through hands-on activities, field trips, and project-based learning.
  • Family Math Nights: Hosting interactive family math nights at schools or community centers, where families can participate in fun mathematics activities and games together, fostering a positive attitude towards math within the community.
  • Collaboration with Community Organizations: Partnering with local community organizations, businesses, and leaders to create a supportive network that reinforces the importance of mathematics education and provides additional resources for Black boys in K-8 mathematics.
  • Research and Evaluation Services: Conducting school based research studies and program evaluations to continuously assess the effectiveness of interventions and identify best practices for improving mathematics outcomes for Black boys, contributing to the broader educational community's knowledge base in K-8 learning spaces.
